ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect replacing Tifton 85 hay with maniçoba in diets based on spineless cactus nutrient intake and digestibility, ingestive behaviour ruminal parameters confined sheep. In order do this, eight male sheep cannulae were used, distributed across four levels (0, 333, 666 1.000 g kg-1 dry matter) replacement a double Latin square experimental design. animals for 60 days divided into periods 15 days. did not influence matter or digestibility. However, it influenced positive linear fashion non-fibrous carbohydrates negative digestibility insoluble fibre neutral detergent crude protein. ammonia-nitrogen protein content decreased linearly hay. There no production volatile fatty acids microbial biofilm. total by digestible intake, acid biofilm, but affect rumen. Therefore, can replace 300 grass without compromising parameters.
